Composition

Core alloying elements define the baseline trade-off between wear resistance, corrosion behavior, and toughness.

Material Overview

DM1(Camillus) - High carbon, low alloys steel. Used by A.G. Russel exclusively. The DM1 steel was developed by Dan Margini, specifically for A.G. Russel, as well as the heat treat protocol for it. Optimized for toughness in large, hard use knives. It is a successor of the 0170-6 steel which was used by Cold Steel under Carbon V name, Blackjack knives, etc.
