Material Overview

DC53 is a premium cold-work tool steel developed by Daido Steel as an upgraded alternative to D2. It offers higher toughness, better machinability, and improved edge stability while maintaining excellent wear resistance and hardness. Although not fully stainless, DC53 has moderate corrosion resistance and performs exceptionally well in hard-use cutting applications. Its balanced properties have made it increasingly popular in both production and custom knives.
