Material Overview

CPM-S110V is a premium powder metallurgy stainless steel developed by Crucible Industries. It contains very high levels of vanadium and niobium, forming extremely hard carbides that deliver exceptional wear resistance and edge retention. While it performs very well in corrosion resistance, its extreme carbide content makes it difficult to sharpen and somewhat less tough compared to more balanced steels. It is widely used in high-end knives where maximum edge life is the primary requirement.
