Material Overview

CPM 10V is a powder metallurgy tool steel produced by Crucible Industries, engineered for maximum wear resistance through a very high vanadium content. It forms a dense network of vanadium carbides that significantly improves edge retention and cutting durability. While it offers better toughness than ultra-extreme steels like CPM 15V or CPM S125V, it is still a non-stainless steel requiring maintenance. It is widely respected for balancing extreme wear resistance with usable toughness in hard-use applications.
