Bestech has just dropped the Cobber, its latest everyday carry folder—and it arrives courtesy of a fresh face in the design world: Australian outfit Happy as Larry.
Despite the name, Happy as Larry isn't a knife shop. It's the brainchild of designer Jake Diaz, who brings decades of industrial design experience to the table. The Cobber is part of a broader rollout of production designs from Diaz, with additional models already in the works through CJRB and Tuya Knives. But for Bestech, this marks the first and only collaboration—at least for now.
The blade sits somewhere between a spear point and a leaf shape, blending the proven utility of both profiles into one versatile package. At 3.37 inches, the Cobber lands squarely in EDC territory, and the 14C28N stainless steel checks all the right boxes for the price: solid edge retention, strong corrosion resistance, and respectable toughness.
G-10 handles round out the build, pairing nicely with the blade steel in both performance and value. It's been a minute since we last looked at a Bestech release, but it's good to see the brand hasn't lost its appetite for bold color options across the handle scales. The Cobber weighs in at a pocket-friendly 3.1 ounces and comes equipped with a reversible deep-carry clip.
